Omaha ATV Launcher
The Omaha TV experience.
Which one describes you?
Either way, the last step is the same: finishing setup from a phone or computer. Go to Finish setup and choose Android phone, iPhone or PC/Mac.
New device: start from the beginning
Settings > My Fire TV > About. Highlight the device name and press Select seven times. A message says "You are now a developer".
Then go back to My Fire TV, open Developer options and turn on:
- ADB debugging
- Apps from Unknown Sources
Your device is ready when Developer options shows both as On.
Search the Appstore for Downloader (orange icon, by AFTVnews) and install it. If you already have it, skip this.
Open Downloader. In the address box type the link for your stick, then choose Go and Install:
launcher.codeomaha.com/fire.apkOr type the Downloader code 5159768 instead.
Got a 1 GB stick (Fire TV Stick Lite or 3rd gen)? Use launcher.codeomaha.com/lite.apk (or Downloader code 9768584) instead. Fire TV 4K Max and Cube: fire.apk.
Downloader asks to install. Choose Install, then Done.
Open Omaha ATV Launcher. Setup starts by itself: enter your ZIP code for the weather, leave the clean-up ticks as they are (or change them), then choose Next.
Setup's last screen explains this. Go to Finish setup below and pick one way.
When that's done, the TV shows Home button: on.
Menu names differ a little between Google TV and Onn models. If a name below isn't on your screen, search the Settings screen for the same word.
Settings > System > About. Highlight Android TV OS build and press OK seven times until it says you're a developer.
Then go to Settings > System > Developer options and turn on USB debugging (also Network debugging if it's listed).
In the Play Store on the TV, search Downloader (by AFTVnews) and install it.
Then allow it to install apps: Settings > Apps > Special access > Install unknown apps > Downloader > On.
Open Downloader and type:
launcher.codeomaha.com/googletv.apkOr type the Downloader code 6473062 instead.
Then Go > Install > Done.
Open Omaha ATV Launcher, enter your ZIP code and go to Next.
Google TV lets you do this on the TV: Settings > System > Accessibility > Omaha home button > On. Setup's last screen offers a shortcut to that page.
Or finish from a phone or computer like the Fire TV steps: see Finish setup.
Settings > Device Preferences > About. Select Build seven times, then go back and open Developer options, turn on Network debugging.
From the SHIELD's Google Play Store, install Downloader (by AFTVnews). Then allow it to install apps: Settings > Apps > Special access > Install unknown apps > Downloader > On.
In Downloader type:
launcher.codeomaha.com/shield.apkOr type the Downloader code 2037180 instead.
Then Go > Install > Done.
Open Omaha ATV Launcher, enter your ZIP code and clean-up choices, then Next.
On SHIELD the Home button is switched on in its Accessibility settings: Settings > Device Preferences > Accessibility > Omaha home button > On. Setup has that shortcut.
If pressing Home shows a list of home apps, choose Omaha ATV Launcher and tap Always. From then on, Home opens Omaha.

Open Omaha ATV Launcher, enter your ZIP code, tick the clean-up you want, choose Next, then finish from a phone or computer below.
Finish setup from a phone or computer
Your TV must be on the same Wi-Fi as the phone or computer, with ADB debugging on (Fire TV: Settings > My Fire TV > Developer options; Google TV: Developer options > Network or USB debugging; SHIELD: Developer options > Network debugging).
On the phone, open this link in the browser: launcher.codeomaha.com/setup.apk (or Downloader code 8526658)
Allow installs from the browser if asked, then open the downloaded file and choose Install.
It looks for the TV on the Wi-Fi by itself. Tap the TV's address (it's shown on the Omaha screen, in the Wi-Fi tile).
On the TV, Allow debugging? appears. Tick Always allow and choose OK.
The phone shows a green list: Home button on, clean-up done.
From the App Store, install atvTools (small one-time purchase). Same Wi-Fi as the TV.
Open atvTools. It usually finds the TV itself. Otherwise add it by address: TV-address:5555 (the address is on the Omaha screen).
Allow USB debugging? appears: tick Always allow, choose OK. atvTools shows Connected.
Tap the >_ icon in the middle of the bottom bar.
Type or paste it into Shell command, then tap the arrow:
sh /sdcard/Android/data/com.omahatv.launcher/files/omaha.shThe output ends with: Done. On the TV, choose Check.
Download setup-pc-mac.zip, then unzip it.
Windows: double-click Omaha-Setup-Windows.bat.
Mac: double-click Omaha-Setup-Mac.command. The first time, right-click it and choose Open.
From the Omaha screen. It downloads Google's ADB tools and does the rest.
On the TV, Allow debugging?: tick Always allow, choose OK.
Not sure which to pick? Use the Android phone app if you have an Android phone, iPhone or iPad for atvTools, and the PC or Mac files if you're at a computer.
Problems? Start here
Turn ADB debugging off and on again on the TV, then run Set up again. The prompt only appears once the phone or computer is asking to connect.
Run Set up again from the phone or computer, then watch the TV for about a minute. If you missed it there's no harm.
Check that the phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi, not a guest network, and not mobile data. Type the TV's address from the Omaha screen (the Wi-Fi tile).
Settings > My Fire TV > About. Highlight the device name and press Select seven times. Then go back to My Fire TV.
Fire TV: Settings > My Fire TV > Developer options > Apps from Unknown Sources > On.
Google TV or SHIELD: Settings > Apps > Special access > Install unknown apps > Downloader > On.
On Fire TV, Omaha's Home button is switched on during setup. Open Omaha, then Settings tile > Home button (it should say Omaha). Google TV and SHIELD: Settings > Accessibility > Omaha home button > On.
Open Omaha's Settings tile and choose Fire TV home. To come back, open Omaha from the apps row.
Press and hold the Home button on the remote for 10 seconds.
Open Omaha, Settings tile > Setup, change the ticks, then run the finishing step again from your phone or computer.
Note which step failed and what the screen says, then open a support ticket.
